CLIENT'S BILL OF RIGHTS

Client's Bill of Rights

1. You have the right to competent counsel who has the skill, knowledge, emotional, mental, has the physical ability to diligently and efficiently represent your interests to the highest standards of the profession.

2. The right to be treated with courtesy and consideration by the attorney and his staff. This right shall include, but not be limited to, prompt return calls and copies of all documentation related to your matter.

3. The right to representation that is free of any conflicts of interests.

4. The right to a second opinion about what your attorney is telling you.

5. The right to obtain from your attorney counseling about the advantages and disadvantages and alternatives to litigation.

6. The right to know the attorney's billing procedure, the amounts you will be charged for the various types of services to be provided, an estimate of the attorneys total fees and an itemized bill clearly representing your attorney's services and charges.

7. The right to be continuously advised on the progress of your case.

8. The right to have your questions answered in a manner that you can understand. This includes the right to engage in settlement negotiations that do not amount to coercion or forced settlements.

9. The right to privacy in all of your dealings with your attorney and the contents of your file.

10. The right to terminate your attorney services at anytime.

11. The right to have all of your original documents and records provided to you without the necessity of signing a substitution of attorneys as a pre-requisite to obtaining the documentation in your file.

12. The right to hire an attorney that has malpractice insurance.

13. The right to insist that your attorney attempt to engage in meaningful settlement negotiations, mediation or arbitration proceedings instead of continued protracted litigation.


Clients Obligation To The Attorney


1. The obligation to fully advise your attorney of all of the known facts about your matter and to keep him advised of any facts that might impact your legal matter.

2. The obligation to pay all of your attorney's bill promptly or to advise him why his bills are not being paid.

3. The obligation to keep your attorney advised of your current address and phone numbers.

4. The obligation to follow your attorneys advice promptly.
